Cognitio is the flagship undergraduate academic congress of
Christian Medical College, Vellore, launched in 2013.

It is a research-first, faculty-mentored, evidence-driven medical congress, inspired by global academic meetings at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Oxford, aimed at developing clinician-scientists, academic leaders, and critical thinkers.

COGNITIO PRESENTATIONS

Cognitio provides undergraduate medical students with a structured platform to present original research and case presentation in a formal academic setting.

 

Research presentations are conducted in two formats -

Poster Presentation

​

Poster presentations offer an opportunity for detailed, one-to-one academic interaction. Participants present their work in a visual format, facilitating focused discussion with faculty and peers. Emphasis is placed on study rationale, methodology, and interpretation rather than visual design alone.


Oral Presentation

​​

Oral presentations are designed to encourage concise scientific communication and critical discussion. Selected participants present their research within a defined time framework, followed by faculty-moderated questions and discussion. Evaluation focuses on clarity of thought, understanding of methodology, interpretation of results, and the ability to respond to academic queries.

CASE PRESENTATION

​

Case presentations foster clinical knowledge ,history taking and examination skills. Selected participants present their cases followed by questions and discussion with the faculty. Case presentations at Cognitio are of 4 categories -

WORKSHOPS

Workshops at Cognitio are designed to provide undergraduate medical students with focused, hands-on learning experiences that complement the academic components of the congress.

 

Conducted under faculty guidance, these sessions offer practical exposure to selected clinical skills and procedural concepts relevant to undergraduate training.

EPIDAURIA 26'

Epidauria is the annual intercollegiate medi-quiz conducted as part of Cognitio and represents a longstanding academic tradition at Christian Medical College, Vellore.

 

It serves as a national platform for undergraduate medical students to test their knowledge, analytical ability, and clinical understanding in a competitive academic environment.

Format and Categories​

​

Epidauria 26 is conducted in two categories:

​

  • Junior Medi-Quiz – For 1st 2nd 3rd year Undergraduate students

  • Senior Medi-Quiz – for Final Year Undergraduates and interns

 

The quiz follows a structured format with preliminary and final rounds, ensuring fair assessment and progressive competition.
